Roswell Invaders Roll Past White Sands Pupfish 16-5

July 16 2019 The Roswell Invaders defeated the White Sands Pupfish 16-5, building their lead with runs in six consecutive innings from the third through the eighth. Roswell totaled 14 hits and committed no errors, while White Sands finished with nine hits and five errors.

Roswell broke through with two runs in the third and fourth innings before adding three in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh. The Invaders put the game out of reach with a six-run eighth inning. White Sands scored once in the sixth and added four runs in the ninth, but could not close the gap.

Jalin Lawson led Roswell with three hits, three runs and three RBI in five at-bats. Nolan Hoff drove in four runs, Kirby Lambert added three RBI and hit a home run, and Jared Hagan contributed two RBI. Matt Paciello and James Garnett each had two hits, while Carson Corff went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Corff earned the win after allowing four hits and no runs over five innings with two strikeouts. Jacob Guilianelli and John Saviano each pitched a scoreless inning and struck out three, while Austin Maltby added two strikeouts in two-thirds of an inning. Jeffrey Rotz took the loss for White Sands after allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits in four innings.
