White Sands Pupfish Rally Past Alpine Cowboys 3-2

July 9 2019 The White Sands Pupfish defeated the Alpine Cowboys 3-2, scoring all three of their runs in the sixth inning to overcome a 2-0 deficit. White Sands finished with 12 hits and two errors, while Alpine collected five hits and committed one error.

V. Desai led the Pupfish offense by going 4-for-4 with a run scored. David Gallagher added two hits and scored once, while Tevin Brown went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Jacob Pool and Satoshi Miyata also drove in runs during White Sands’ three-run sixth inning.

Jordan Young earned the win with a complete-game performance, allowing five hits and two runs, one earned, while striking out eight and walking none. Ryan Hill took the loss for Alpine after allowing nine hits and three earned runs over six innings with eight strikeouts. Jake Woods worked two scoreless innings in relief for the Cowboys, striking out three.
