Alpine Cowboys Overwhelm White Sands Pupfish 25-9

June 9 2019 The Alpine Cowboys erupted for 20 runs over the final three innings to defeat the White Sands Pupfish 25-9. Alpine collected 24 hits and overcame a 9-5 deficit after six innings, while White Sands finished with eight hits. Both teams were charged with two errors.

Alpine broke the game open with a nine-run seventh inning, added two runs in the eighth and scored nine more in the ninth. The Cowboys hit two home runs, with W. Little delivering a five-run, five-hit performance that included four RBI and a home run. C. Franz also homered and drove in two runs. S. Little went 5-for-7 with three runs and two RBI, while C. Scura had two hits, four runs and three RBI. R. Tennie scored four runs, collected two hits and drew four walks.

White Sands scored three times in the first, twice in the third and fourth innings, and once in both the fifth and sixth. B. Bavly had two hits, three walks and an RBI, while P. Newsom went 2-for-4 with three runs scored. J. Pool drove in two runs, and R. Sugimoto added one RBI.

Mike DEletto earned the victory for Alpine after allowing one hit and two runs over two innings, with four walks and one strikeout. Matt Eiel followed with two scoreless innings and two strikeouts, and A. Click added a scoreless inning with two strikeouts. Jeffrey Rotz took the loss for White Sands after giving up five runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings. Chris Jimenez allowed seven runs in one inning.
