Roswell Invaders Rally Past White Sands Pupfish 9-5

June 10 2018 The Roswell Invaders defeated the White Sands Pupfish 9-5 behind a 14-hit attack. Roswell scored once in the first inning before breaking the game open with five runs in the sixth, then added one run in each of the final three innings. White Sands scored once in the fifth and twice in both the seventh and ninth innings.

B. Portelli led Roswell with three hits, two runs and two RBI, while Jordan Ackerman also collected three hits. Louis Martini went 2-for-4 with two runs, and Jason Ibrahim added two hits and two RBI. Gavin Lavallee scored twice, drove in a run and hit a triple. The Invaders also received two RBI from Nolan Hoff and finished with three doubles and a triple.

Carson Corff earned the win after allowing five runs four earned on eight hits in 8 1/3 innings. He walked one and struck out four before Ricky Mitchell recorded the final two outs. Joseph Johnson took the loss for White Sands, giving up six runs four earned on 11 hits in six innings while striking out six. Clay Gentle paced the Pupfish with three hits, and Josh Youngchild and Greg Chavez each drove in a run.
