Ruidoso Osos Roll Past White Sands Pupfish 21-10

May 29 2018 The Ruidoso Osos defeated the White Sands Pupfish 21-10 after pounding out 22 hits. Ruidoso scored in seven of nine innings, including four runs in the first, seven in the fifth, four in the seventh and three in the eighth. White Sands collected eight hits and scored three runs in the first, three in the third, two in the fourth and two in the ninth.

Travis Smith led the Osos with five hits in five at-bats, including two doubles, while Christian Triplett went 3-for-5 with a triple and four runs scored. James Garnett added two hits, four runs and two RBIs, and Brock Hartley finished 3-for-6 with a double and two RBIs. Jesus Grimaldo homered twice and drove in five runs, while Ruidoso also got home runs from Garnett.

Aaron Sheaks paced White Sands with two hits, a home run and five RBIs. Timothy Carter hit two home runs and drove in two runs, while Chaztin Venezia scored three times and added a double.

The box score lists Eddie Grimaldo as the winning pitcher. Jesus Grimaldo worked 3.1 scoreless innings for Ruidoso, allowing one hit and striking out four. Colton Draney pitched 3.2 innings and allowed eight runs, five earned, while Joe Nicolace took the loss for White Sands after surrendering 13 runs on 13 hits in 4.2 innings.
