July 20 2013 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the White Sands Pupfish 11-5, outhitting White Sands 14-13. Trinidad built an early lead with two runs in the second inning, then broke the game open with four runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and four more in the sixth. The Pupfish scored once in the second and four times in the third but were held scoreless over the final six innings.
Frank Florio led Trinidad with three hits and three RBI, while Zach Kreeger also collected three hits. Matt Hunt, Jacob Fabry and Jason Veyna each added two hits, with Hunt and Veyna scoring twice. Trinidad also received a double from Hunt, Florio, Bryce Miller, Dylan Porter and Veyna, along with a triple from Fabry. White Sands was led by Miguel Flores with three hits and Cody Collins and Mark Leacox with two hits apiece.
Mike Mullen earned the win after allowing one hit and no runs over three innings with one walk and two strikeouts. Dylan Porter started for Trinidad and allowed five runs, only two earned, on eight hits in three innings. Eric Zagone took the loss for White Sands after giving up six runs, five earned, on seven hits in three innings, while Nick Alexander was charged with five runs in 2.2 innings. White Sands reliever Del Rosso held Trinidad scoreless over the final 3.1 innings and struck out five.
