July 17 2013 The Roswell Invaders defeated the White Sands Pupfish 8-4, scoring in three innings to secure the win. Roswell pushed across three runs in the third, matched White Sands with four runs in the sixth, then added a run in the seventh. The Pupfish scored all four of their runs in the sixth inning.
Vincent Mejia led Roswell with two hits, a home run and four RBI. Erick Gaylord also homered and finished with two hits, two runs and one RBI.
Roger Bernal went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI, while
Ryan Normoyle added two hits and two RBI. Roswell finished with 11 hits, including doubles by Normoyle Bernal and Mejia.
Ed Kohout earned the win after allowing eight hits and four runs over six innings. He struck out six and did not issue a walk, with two of the four runs charged as earned. Ryan Richardson, S. Herold and Davis Henderson combined for three scoreless innings of relief.
White Sands received a four-RBI home run from E. Gonzalez, who went 1-for-4.
Chris De Biasi collected three hits, and Max Gordon and Stephen Rodgers added two hits apiece.
Chris Anklam took the loss after surrendering eight hits and seven earned runs in 5.2 innings, walking four and striking out two.
