July 26 2019 The Santa Fe Fuego defeated the White Sands Pupfish 4-2 at Fort Marcy Park behind a complete-game performance from Patrick Gonzales. Santa Fe finished with seven hits and two errors while White Sands also collected seven hits but played error-free baseball.
The Fuego took an early lead with one run in the first inning and two more in the second. White Sands answered with a run in the third and pulled within one when it scored again in the seventh, but Santa Fe added an insurance run in the eighth before Gonzales closed out the victory in the ninth.
Nick Herzog led Santa Fe with two hits two runs and two RBI and hit two home runs. Jose Camacho added a two-run homer and finished with two RBI. Kyle Butler and B. Dansereau each had two hits for the Fuego. Tevin Brown recorded four hits and an RBI for White Sands while Elan Trischitta had a double and scored a run.
Gonzales earned the win after allowing seven hits and two earned runs in nine innings. He walked three and struck out seven. White Sands starter Collin Shaw took the loss despite striking out 15 in seven innings; he allowed five hits and three earned runs with three walks. Brian Garcia worked the eighth inning for the Pupfish and allowed two hits and one earned run.
